Mr. K.Ravindra Pathmapriya
Mr. K. Ravindra Pathmapriya, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, has been serving as the Director General of the Department of Information Technology Management since August 1, 2022. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Physical Science from the University of Kelaniya and a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA). With nearly three decades of experience in the public sector, Mr. Pathmapriya is recognized for his exceptional leadership, change management expertise, and proficiency in overseeing complex ICT projects and public administration reforms.
Throughout his career, he has played pivotal roles in various government institutions, including the Ministry of Telecommunication & Information Technology, the State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovation, the Department of Pensions, the Department of the Commissioner General of Samurdhi, the Divisional Secretariats of Horana, Ingiriya, and Beruwala, the National Engineering Research and Development Center, the National Science Foundation, and the Rural Development Training and Research Institute. His work in these institutions has focused on enhancing operational efficiency, fostering innovation, and advancing the government’s ICT capabilities to improve public service delivery.
Mr. Pathmapriya’s leadership extends across multiple key roles in Sri Lanka’s public sector. He serves as a board member for several government-owned enterprises, including the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC), NSBM Green University, the Urban Development Authority (UDA), and the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT), contributing to strategic decision-making. Additionally, he plays an active role in driving digital transformation as a member of various steering committees focused on digitalization initiatives. Mr. Pathmapriya also serves as a member of the Cabinet-appointed Procurement Committee, ensuring transparency and integrity in government procurement processes. His work reflects a commitment to reform, innovation, and efficient public service delivery.
As a change management expert, Mr. Pathmapriya is committed to achieving sustainable improvements in government operations, promoting digital governance, and applying his expertise in social security and administrative roles. With extensive local and international experience gained through various trainings and workshops, he approaches challenges with a strategic mindset. His passion for continuous learning, coupled with strong leadership, ensures that the Department of Information Technology Management remains at the forefront of technological advancement in Sri Lanka’s public sector.
